Leg Presses is one of the best leg exercises to train the quadriceps,hamstring and gluteus muscles.This exercise is a part of all leg workouts and is especially helpful for those who want to gain muscles.This leg exercise is helpful to develop upper leg muscles,and hip muscles and back muscles to some extent.Correct technique is necessary to be understood to avoid leg pains.


CORRECT FORM:




The foremost thing to keep in mind is never to lift too much weight in this exercise,or it will lead to lower back injury.





  • Lie down flat in the machine,and place your feet on the platform.Make sure your feet are about shoulder width apart.
  • Inhale,and push the weights out,exhaling as you do so.Make sure you do not lock your knees at the top of the motion.Remove the support rods.
  • Slowly bring the weight down towards you,keeping your whole foot on the platform.Raising any part of your fot will put large amounts of pressure on the knees.
  • Bring the weight down slowly.Any fast movement can cause a lower back injury.Inhale as you bring the weight down.
  • Exhale as you push the weight back up.Make sure you do not lift your back or hips up from the mat,and also make sure you dont lock your knees.
  • Repeat for around 8-10 times,doing a total of 3 sets.
